About our First Aid for Mental Health Course in Kent

The Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health is an intermediate Ofqual (RQF) certified course for individuals with health & safety responsibilities in the workplace.

While encompassing the same topics as the Level 1 Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health course, our First Aid for Mental Health course in Kent also focuses on instilling cultural changes and expands upon the causes of mental health issues.

Who is the Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health for?

This 1-day course covers the same content of the Level 1 course, but also expands on the effects of drugs and alcohol, and how substance abuse issues can impact on an individual’s mental health. It also explains the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan framework, and offers ways in which a positive mental health culture can be supported within the workplace.

The Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health is a more advanced version of the Level 1 course, covering the same ground but providing more detail and a more action-oriented approach. It is designed to empower individuals to identify more complex mental health issues, and to address the underlying causes of poor mental health in the workplace.

The First Aid for Mental Health course in Kent is suitable for all employees, but is of particular value to individuals who have a responsibility towards general health & safety. It can also be a useful introductory course for managers who may not be responsible for implementing or drafting safety policies, but are well-positioned to recognise mental health issues among employees.
