About the Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health
The Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health is an advanced Ofqual (RQF) certified course for individuals responsible for managing health & safety in the workplace.
While covering everything in the Level 1 and Level 2 courses, the Level 3 Award expands its focus to a wider array of mental health conditions and potential treatments.
It is specifically aimed at trainers, assessors and supervisor-level employees with the ability to make actionable changes within the workplace.
Who is the Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health for?
This 2-day course provides a detailed overview of a wide range of mental health conditions, and how these issues can be supported and treated by healthcare professionals. As well as covering all of the points from the Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications, the Level 3 Award offers specific and actionable advice to individuals with training, assessment and supervisory responsibilities.
Candidates taking this course will receive the most thorough possible grounding in mental health issues and the ways in which they impact on the workplace. They will learn not just to identify a wide array of mental health problems, but also to begin fruitful conversations with colleagues, plan and instil better working cultures, and provide medically-supported advice.

Duration
A minimum of 12 hours spread over at least two days. Ideally, the course should be run over two consecutive days, but must be completed within 6 weeks of starting the course, with each training session a minimum of two hours.
Numbers
A maximum of 16 students are allowed on each course, with a minimum age of 16 years. Certificates can be offered to all candidates, subject to assessment.
Assessment
A range of methods are used, including practical and questioning (open and multiple-choice).
Certification
A Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. There is no expiry of the qualification, but annual refresher training is recommended.
